Where the anatomy of the mind meets the architecture of the Renaissance
The International Conference on Neuroscience Research and Development (ICNRD) opens its inaugural edition in Florence, a city built on the conviction that art, anatomy, and inquiry belong in the same room. Six centuries after its academies first dissected the human form to understand it, Florence hosts a new assembly devoted to the organ that made that ambition possible: the brain.
Over three days, ICNRD 2027 will convene researchers, clinicians, and doctoral scholars across twelve tracks spanning molecular biology to artificial intelligence — united by a single aim: to move discovery from the bench toward the person it is meant to help.
Delegates will present original research, chair working sessions, and take part in a printed proceedings volume issued under the conference's inaugural imprint.
The inaugural programme is guided by a scientific committee drawn from clinical, computational, and molecular neuroscience.
The conference convenes at the Palazzo dei Congressi, set within the Parco della Fortezza da Basso on the edge of Florence's historic centre — a short walk from the Duomo, the Uffizi, and the Arno.
Delegates arrive via Firenze Peretola Airport (20 minutes) or Santa Maria Novella station, with direct high-speed rail connections from Rome, Milan, and Bologna. A curated list of partner hotels within walking distance of the venue will be published alongside registration.
